Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to be self-directed and to exercise independent nursing judgment required. Strong interpersonal skills required. Experience in interdisciplinary teamwork required. Strong written and oral communication skills required. Strong analytical, critical thinking, decision making, and organizational skills required. Working knowledge of computer applications including basic word processing, email, Internet access and data entry required. Recent experience (within the past two years) working with an EMR (ex. Meditech, eClinician, connect care) is required. Experience (within 2 years) in public health nursing (Ex. Well Child Clinic, Healthy Beginnings, School Health) preferred. Experience (within 2 years) immunizing babies, preschool or school aged children preferred. Experience working with teens, diverse cultures, and marginalized populations preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or Bachelor of Nursing is preferred, but other skills and experiences relevant to nursing practice in the community sector will be considered. Knowledge, understanding and demonstrated use of the social determinants of health and health promotion. CNA Certification in Community Health Nursing. International Board of Lactation Consultants certification.
