Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 2-3 years of current experience with the Healthy Beginnings Postpartum program is required; however relatable skills and recent experience working with newborn/infant populations may be considered. Ability to be self-directed and to exercise independent nursing judgement. Experience working with teens, young adults, diverse cultures, young families, low-income families, and other vulnerable or marginalized populations is required. Knowledge of the determinants of health is required. Strong clinical, analytical, critical thinking and decision-making skills are required. Experience in multidisciplinary teamwork is required. The ability to adapt to a changing work environment is required. Strong written and oral communication skills are required. Strong interpersonal skills are required. The successful candidate will be required to pack, lift, move and transport heavy and awkward supplies to various work sites. Service delivery may require walking several blocks and climbing several flights of stairs, awkward and repetitive movements, sitting, standing and /or bending for long periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with the Meditech Electronic Medical Record and Connect Care is an asset. A Baccalaureate degree in nursing is preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to the nursing practice in the community sector will be considered. Canadian Nurses Association Certification in community health nursing, is an asset.
