Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Qualifications:The role requires understanding of risk management in community environments, the ability to manage and resolve complex issues that affect patient outcomes, the ability to interpret processes and mediate expectations that exceed available resources, as well as maintaining a balance between patient preference and zone priorities. The successful candidate will be able to remain optimistic and motivated when encountering challenges and obstacles. Minimum of 5 years recent and diverse Mental Health Experience, including Seniors Mental Health. Recent experience with community based placement, specifically designated supportive living and long term care. Ability and current mandatory training to complete the Inter-RAI-MDS-HC tool is required. Sound understanding of the aging process, as well excellent familiarity with medical/surgical nursing are crucial components of this position. The successful incumbent will also have demonstrated outstanding leadership, communication, team collaboration and networking skills
Preferred Qualifications:BScN preferred; however, combination of education and experience will be considered.
