Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Administration Certificate (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Current clinical experience (within the last 12 months) as a Registered Nurse in at least one of the following departments is required: acute care, emergency, intensive care, operating room, obstetrics, and psychiatry. Experience within the last 3 years caring for patients with continuous cardiac monitoring, major trauma, acute stroke, cardiac events, injuries, general medical/surgical, and neuro trauma services.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 2 years nursing experience in the past 5 years working in the emergency department of a large urban/tertiary level hospital. Emergency nursing training or equivalent. Advanced Critical Care Nursing certification (ACCN). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). CTAS (Canadian Triage & Acuity Scale) certification or equivalent experience within the last 3 years. Charge Nurse experience.
