Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Administration Certificate (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited Critical Care Training program OR 3 years' experience within the last 5 years Critical Care experience in a tertiary hospital. Experience within the last 3 years caring for patients with mechanical ventilation, advanced cardiac monitoring, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, emergency cardiac arrest management, countershock, inotropes, and massive transfusions.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in an adult ICU setting, that serves trauma, med/surg, cardiac and neuro trauma patients. Experience within the last 3 years caring for patients with transcutaneous and transvenous pacemakers, neuromuscular blocking agents, and continuous renal replacement therapy. Experience supporting a code or rapid response team. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). Charge Nurse experience.
