Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP) as Emergency Medical Responder (EMR). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) from Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Must hold or be able to obtain a valid class 4 Alberta Operator Licence or equivalent and a five (5) year driver abstract current within six (6) months with no more than six (6) demerits prior to commencing work. Proof of the successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test via the certificate provided by the Lifemark organization, required for candidates who do not already hold a clinical position within Alberta Health Services (AHS) EMS (VESST, Clinical Educator, EMR, PCP, ACP and Community Paramedic). Your F.A.R.E. test must be completed no more than six (6) months prior to the date of your application. AHS EMS may verify F.A.R.E. results with Lifemark to confirm successful completion. Preferred Qualifications:Preference is given to those with previous EMS experience in a metro, suburban, rural, or interfacility environment and in other areas of Health Care and Public Safety. Completion of additional post-secondary programs is considered an asset and will be considered during the selection process.
