Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Refrigeration Mechanic Certificate from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
Additional Required Qualifications:5–7 years of specialized technical experience, ideally in a hospital setting. Strong knowledge of the refrigeration trade, relevant codes, safety regulations, lockout procedures, and confined space requirements. Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues using sound judgment and initiative. Proficient with tools, equipment, Microsoft programs, and building maintenance systems. Clear and effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Reliable, cooperative, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Able to provide direction and support to others as needed and collaborate effectively with management, supervisors, and hospital staff.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with repair and maintenance of chillers is a definite asset.
