Refrigeration Mechanic
Your Opportunity:
Alberta Health Services is recruiting for a highly experienced Refrigeration Mechanic to repair, maintain, and operate refrigeration and air conditioning systems at our Red Deer sites. Using your skills and knowledge of relevant codes and CSA standards, you will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on chillers (up to 1,000 tons), air handlers, walk-in coolers, refrigerators, ultra-low temperature freezers for medication or vaccine storage, and ice machines. This position works in and out of the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre and maintains refrigeration systems and other equipment at various other metro sites within the City of Red Deer.
Description:
As a Refrigeration Mechanic, you will be responsible to assemble, install, repair, and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. You will also be required to perform continued preventative maintenance and operational performance checks on air or water cooled systems in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices.

Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Refrigeration Mechanic Certificate from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Certificate from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with repair and maintenance of chillers is a definite asset. Gas fitter certification is a definite asset. Building Automation experience is an asset Ozone Depletion Substances (ODS) Certificate. Computer skills, knowledge about Microsoft programs, and building maintenance programs.
