Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies. Active or eligible registration for Professional Membership with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA). Minimum three years' related clinical experience as a Recreation Therapist.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years work in Seniors Health (ADP, home care, supportive living and/or long-term care, palliative care); minimum 3 years leadership working directly with ADPs; Initiates, models and promotes the use of best practice; Motivated self-starter; Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to lead a team and promote collaboration and partnership; Strong organizational, critical thinking, and systems thinking skills; Strong teamwork and collaboration skills; Able to work independently with limited direction, based on consults and requests for support; Effective time management skills; Flexible and adaptable; Comfortable working in fast-past and changing environments; Willing to take on new challenges; Knowledge of Seniors Health standards/protocols, policies, procedures, systems and designated living options; Program planning, development, and evaluation skills; computer competence with Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, virtual meeting venues (TEAMs, ZOOM etc.), Meditech or equivalent; Knowledge of Adult Day Program provincial best-practice models; Expertise in the development and facilitation of resources and education; Experience leading and facilitating community of practice with various teams from frontline staff to executive leadership; Evidence of leadership excellence.

Preferred Qualifications:

Rural experience; Experiential learning, consultation, teaching others, professional reading, distance learning, e-learning, research, and self-directed activities; Strong teaching, coaching, assessment, and research skills; Knowledge of AHS Branding, Copyright and referencing; Experience and knowledge of North Zone systems and operation; Connect Care Super User; Evidence of life-long learning.
