Completion of bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies. Active or eligible registration with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA).
Additional Required Qualifications:First Aid training prior to first day of work. An Alberta Driver's license and vehicle in good working order. Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies. Active registration as a professional member with the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association. National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC). Fitness Alberta Certification (Foundations in Physical Activity & Exercise and Fitness for the Older Adult Exercise specialty) and extensive knowledge and experience in physical activity interventions. Valid Heart and Stroke Foundation-Basic Life Support certification. Aquatic Therapy experience and/or certification Expressive Arts & Music Care experience and/or certification. Dementia Care certification Health Change Methodology. Change Management Courses. Physically able to do job demands. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold these qualifications.
