Completion of bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies. Active or eligible registration with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation (or equivalent) required. Active Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association membership. Experience working with clients/families requiring neuro rehabilitation within the last 5 years. Experience in providing delegation / assignment and supervision to support personnel who are carrying out those assigned tasks and / or service components. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated excellent organizational and time management skills. Intermediate computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office and Connect Care. Proven initiative, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to function effectively within a patient and family centered team of health care professionals and support staff. Ability to perform all duties in accordance with related legislation. Physically able to perform all assigned tasks: Lifting and transferring patients as required. Pushing and pulling items of approximately 50 kgs. Reaching horizontally or above the head. Walking, standing and/or sitting for extended periods. Computer work. BCLS-HCP certification is a job requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 3 years of experience in neuro rehabilitation within the last 5 years. Demonstrated continuing education, process improvement or research in neuro rehabilitation. Recent experience in a neuro rehabilitation community or acute care setting. Experience completing autonomous community outings.
