Completion of bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies. Active or eligible registration with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA).
Additional Required Qualifications:We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our team in a role focused on dementia care and program development. The ideal candidate should have experience in working with dementia patients and developing tailored programs for their needs. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team. A proven track record of successfully managing dementia care initiatives and program development, while meeting deadlines, is crucial. Proficiency in relevant software and tools, along with a keen attention to detail, is expected. In addition, a passion for improving the quality of life for dementia patients and a commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements in the field are highly valued. Basic Cardiac Life Support – health Care Provider (BCLS – HLP) required.
Preferred Qualifications:3 or more years’ experience working in seniors' psychiatry or dementia care. Proven track record of developing and implementing dementia recreational therapy programs is preferred.
