Radiation Therapist I (ACB)
Your Opportunity:
The Central Alberta Cancer Center in Red Deer is looking for a Radiation Therapist to join our team in providing exceptional patient care for the people of central Alberta. The successful candidate will work on two TrueBeam Varian Linear Accelerators as well as a Philips Big Bore CT-Simulator. The department will also provide opportunities for the successful candidate to develop treatment planning skills using Eclipse software. The position is available for Radiation Therapists of all levels of experience and new graduates are welcome to apply.
Description:
As a Radiation Therapist I, you will deliver a prescribed course of radiation treatment to patients and assist in the efficient, safe and accurate planning of patient's care during simulation and/or planning procedures according to the direction of a Radiation Oncologist. You will assess each patient's reactions to treatment, document treatment plans, and maintain patient records. Additionally, you will educate patients about treatment procedures, side effects, and appropriate management strategies to mitigate the side effects of treatment, making referrals to other health professionals as needed.

Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy in Canada or accredited non-Canadian program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Must also have a proven record of maintaining privacy and confidentiality with sensitive information and situations. Must be physically able to perform all duties of the job required along with sitting, standing, bending, walking and lifting as needed. Basic Life Support (BLS)
