Radiation Therapist I
Your Opportunity:
The Central Alberta Cancer Centre, located in Red Deer, is looking for a Radiation Therapist to come in and join our team to help us to continue to provide safe, efficient, and effective radiation treatment to the people of Central Alberta. Our Cancer Centre currently utilizes two Varian TrueBeams with room for expansion as well as a Phillips Big-Bore CT-Sim. In addition to treating the four main turmor groups, our team has initiated and developed a very robust and expanding SBRT program. Our therapists also have the opportunity to expand on their treatment planning skills by utilizing Eclipse planning software.
Description:
As a Radiation Therapist I, you will deliver a prescribed course of radiation treatment to patients and assist in the efficient, safe and accurate planning of patient's care during simulation and/or planning procedures according to the direction of a Radiation Oncologist. You will assess each patient's reactions to treatment, document treatment plans, and maintain patient records. Additionally, you will educate patients about treatment procedures, side effects, and appropriate management strategies to mitigate the side effects of treatment, making referrals to other health professionals as needed.

Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy in Canada or accredited non-Canadian program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Must be able to perform all physical duties of the position including lifting and moving for extended periods of time. Basic Life Support (BLS). Students in their final year of a recognized Radiation Therapy program are encouraged to apply.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Varian TrueBeam equipment. Experience Eclipse Software.
