Quality and Engagement Coordinator
Your Opportunity:
The Patient Access to Ambulatory Care team at Alberta Health Services (AHS) is hiring for the role of the Alberta Referral Directory (ARD) Quality and Engagement Coordinator, a temporary full-time position. The ARD is the official centralized source of referral information in Alberta. The coordinator’s core accountability will be to ensure the referral information in the ARD Specialist Profiles is of high quality to help referring providers send complete and appropriate patient referrals. In addition, this role will manage the ARD helpdesk and promote the ARD to primary care providers.
Description:
The Quality and Engagement Coordinator will improve and maintain the quality of ARD Specialist Profiles and link these profiles to the ARD healthcare services where the specialists practice by using data from AHS and the College of Physicians and Surgeons. The coordinator will regularly connect with specialists, their delegates and healthcare service managers to obtain referral information and will enter the data into the ARD. This role will manage daily helpdesk inquiries and triage ARD emails, create/update healthcare service profiles, test the ARD application and participate in other ARD initiatives as required. In addition, the coordinator will engage with primary care through communications, promotions, and monthly customized web-based facilitation sessions. This role requires excellent communication skills, customer service experience, presentation skills, meticulous attention to detail, problem solving skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, familiarity with computer operating systems, stakeholder management systems and database technology.

Completion of post-secondary education in business administration, communications, healthcare administration, health information or related education. At least three years’ experience in a referral processing role in an ambulatory, outpatient, or primary care setting. Extensive medical terminology knowledge and a solid understanding of the health system in Alberta. A combination of education, skills and experience may be considered.
