Public Health Inspector II
Your Opportunity:
This is an opportunity to become a member of the province wide Environmentally Acquired Disease Control Team (EADCT) and be responsible for a wide array of work including the follow up of notifiable diseases, animal exposures, suspected foodborne illness and outbreak management. This is a provincial position, serving residents in all zones and is open to applicants from all areas. Location will be determined once a successful applicant is chosen.
Description:
As a Public Health Inspector II and appointed Executive Officer under the authority of the Public Health Act, you will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive environmental public health program. As a Public Health Inspector II, you will have advanced technical expertise in the areas of public health epidemiology, environmental science and engineering, and scientific research. In addition to the duties required for the enforcement of the Public Health Act, you will act as a zone lead responsible for specialized technical advice and services in one or more of the environmental public health service delivery areas on a zone/provincial basis. You will support individual and community wellness through monitoring inspections, disease surveillance, consultation and enforcement of the Public Health Act and regulations.

Completion of Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health or in a related field of study plus a recognized Environmental Health technical program. Completion of certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada). Active Member in Good Standing with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI).
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous experience with disease control work as well as knowledge of related IT platforms including Connect Care, EPHIS, CDOM and Netcare will be an asset.
