Completion of doctoral degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduation from an accredited PhD program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology required. Alberta Heart and Stroke: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider. Recent experience, within the last 4 years, working in a hospital setting. Recent experience in psychotherapy/counselling with adults and families. Demonstrated commitment to professional growth.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience coordinating and facilitating therapeutic groups. Experience within the last 4 years in psychotherapy/counselling with adults who have a neurological diagnosis and/or chronic illness and/or chronic pain. Training and experience in formal psychological assessment. Experience in therapeutic modalities including CBT, ACT and Emotion focused treatments. Knowledge of trauma and trauma informed care. Experience working with a multidisciplinary team.
