High School diploma or equivalent. Active (or eligible) for appointment as a Community Peace Officer with enforcement duties involving the public, as identified by the Province of Alberta/Solicitor General. Successful completion of Alberta Health Services or Alberta Justice and Solicitor General Community Peace Officer Induction Training Program (6 weeks program). Valid Class 5 (non-GDL) Driver's Licence. Valid Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (P.A.R.E.) completed under 4:45 minute, within 6 months prior to commencing employment.
Additional Required Qualifications:The successful PARE must be completed and submitted prior to May 1,2024, to be eligible for an interview. In addition, the PARE test must be successfully completed within 6 months of the start of the CPOIP class on May 27, 2024. You must show that you have a class 5 non GDL drivers' license with less than 4 demerits and no criminal convictions. You must have a valid Current First Aid and CPR Level C - AED certification prior to the interview.
Preferred Qualifications:Prefer two years’ post-secondary education in Security, Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice. Prefer two years security/law enforcement experience. CPI Non-violent Crisis Intervention training and Pressure Point Control Tactic Certificates are also assets. Experience within a healthcare setting an asset.
