The Program Assistant (PA) provides comprehensive administrative support to the Ability Management and Occupational Injury Team and reports directly to the Manager position. This role supports the day-to-day operations of the team by performing a full range of administrative duties related to payroll, benefits, and disability case management. The Program Assistant applies strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify, investigate, and resolve complex pay issues and time corrections involving multiple internal and external stakeholders. The role ensures accurate and timely processing of disability leave, and benefits-related documentation while maintaining confidentiality and service excellence.

A minimum of a High School Diploma is required. A minimum of two (2) years of related experience in Disability Management, Pay and Benefits is required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Knowledge of Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD) and Workers Compensation Board (WCB) eligibility and application processes. Considerable knowledge and experience in benefits administration and payroll calculations. General knowledge and understanding of Ability Management programs and processes. Previous experience in a health care setting. Proficiency with human resources management system software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment. Strong data entry skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong formatting, grammar, and proofreading skills. Ability to work effectively with frequent interruptions and competing priorities. Strong organizational and workload management skills. Ability to coordinate meetings. Ability to handle incoming phone calls professionally and courteously. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Flexibility and willingness to learn new concepts. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong command of the English language.
