Your Opportunity:

The Procurement Specialist III is a position within Equipment Contracting, Procurement & Supply Management (CPSM) and will be responsible and accountable for coordinating multi-source contracts and the competitive bidding process for a variety of medical equipment (capital and minor) organizational needs. This may also include related consumables, maintenance services and OEM parts in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices, trade agreements and related legislation.

Description:

As a Procurement Specialist III, you will showcase your excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff and external vendors. You will develop new contracts and contract amendments that create value and mitigate risk to AHS. You will be responsible for coordinating all activities related to the competitive bidding process including RFx evaluations preparing contract documents, assisting with contract implementations and managing contracts within their assigned categories in compliance with AHS procurement processes, policies and guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary degree in Business or Supply Management.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Contract Management: Negotiates and develops terms and conditions of contracts in compliance with AHS policy and consistent with legislation. Creates business cases to validate multi-source contracts. Competitive Bid Coordination: Represents AHS in procurement contract negotiations for assigned large scale procurements/contracts. Develops and executes sourcing strategies to find, evaluate and engage suppliers of goods and services. Determines desired service levels, pricing and business terms for acquisition. Coordinates and facilitates multi-source competitive bidding processes including analysis of multiple proposals and vendor/stakeholder negotiations. Analyzes proposals and recommends contract awards for approval. Vendor Maintenance: Establishes and maintains vendor relationships facilitating contract renewals and amendments. Leads the implementation of contracts with stakeholders and vendors. Monitors contract performance and seeks improvements or resolution to contract issues. Information Management and Reporting: Assesses market opportunities/threats and recommends plans to address. Analyzes and interprets complex data to support procurement strategies. Identifies improvements or resolutions to contract issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree. Preference is in a health or business-related field. Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) is an asset.
