Power Plant Coordinator I

The Peter Lougheed Centre is offering this opportunity for a Full Time, Power Plant Coordinator I. The PLC, FM&E department at the Peter Lougheed Centre is a fast-paced dynamic environment suitable to a highly motivated and energetic individual. You will part of diverse team that prioritizes patient care and leads in workplace safety. This position acts as the Chief Engineer and typical hours are day shift, but coverage may be assigned for vacation and sick time if required.
Description:
The Power Plant Coordinator I is responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable maintenance and operation of the site power plant in accordance with Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA) standards and regulations and Alberta Health Services policies and procedures. As a Power Plant Coordinator I, you will assist the Power Plant Manager (Chief Engineer) in the day-to-day operation of the power plant. In addition, you will provide orientation and training to department staff.

Completion of 3rd or 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate (depending on ABSA rating).
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate Minimum of 5 years broad experience in operation and maintenance of power boilers (generating superheated steam), generators, refrigeration, cooling tower, chillers, high and low pressure steam and heating systems and associated computerized automated control systems. Considerable initiative and judgement involved. Incumbent is allowed considerable use of judgement in solving technical problems arising in day-to-day operations. Knowledge of General Safety Service Act relating to Plant Operations and ABSA regulations. Writing reports.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Metasys Building Systems is an asset.
