Your Opportunity:
Description:
As a Plumber/Steamfitter plans, you will perform a range of journeyperson level duties associated with the installation and plumbing services and piping systems, fixtures, equipment and controls used to transport water, waste, gas, air, and steam. You will be responsible for monitoring, testing, trouble shooting, documenting and analyzing performance of high and low pressure steam, hot water heating, associated distribution and control systems and equipment , plumbing, medical gas, domestic hot & cold water, tempered water, glycol, chilled water, natural gas, storm and sanitary sewer. In addition, you will prepare feasibility and cost estimates and reports and request or order supplies.

Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Plumber and Journeyperson Steamfitter-Pipefitter certificates from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
Additional Required Qualifications:Must have 3-5 years' experience working in an Institutional or Hospital setting performing plumber/steam fitting tasks. Good knowledge of the National Plumbing Code (NPC). Proven reliability, cooperation, and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Ability to follow directions and adapt to varying work demands as requirements. Ability to comprehend and utilize a computerized maintenance system. Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.). Must be able to read, write, and understand English, be physically fit with the ability to lift 50 lbs./22.5 kgs floor to waits. comfortable working from heights. walking great distances throughout the day. At time be able to work in inclement weather. Must be able to Interpret Blueprint Drawings. Must be able to be half mask fit tested. All other duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications:Trades Qualification/Journeyperson Certificates: Gasfitter A or B for the province of Alberta. AWWA Certified Cross Connection control tester. Minimum 1 yr experience Medical Gas installer certified in compliance with CSA Z7396.1. 2+ experience of Hospital/Institutional maintenance.
