Your Opportunity:
Looking to take your trade to the next level? The University of Alberta Hospital is hiring a skilled Journeyperson Plumber to join our Facilities Maintenance & Engineering team. This is a unique opportunity to work on complex, critical systems in a fast paced healthcare environment where your work directly supports patient care. This is not typical plumbing work. You will gain hands on experience with medical gas systems, reverse osmosis, dialysis water systems, and specialized hospital infrastructure that few tradespeople get exposure to. In this role, you will install, maintain, and troubleshoot plumbing, drainage, and water distribution systems, while supporting system upgrades and shutdowns. You will work alongside a strong multidisciplinary team and play a key role in keeping essential hospital systems running safely and reliably. What we are looking for: Journeyperson Plumber (Alberta or Red Seal). Medical Gas certification is an asset. Experience with specialty water systems is an asset. Strong troubleshooting mindset and a willingness to learn. What you can expect: Exposure to highly specialized and complex systems. Meaningful work that supports frontline healthcare. A team environment with strong technical support. Opportunities to expand your skillset beyond traditional plumbing. The role requires physical work including lifting up to 50lbs, working in confined spaces, at heights, and walking long distances throughout the site. If you are motivated, take pride in your work, and want to be part of something bigger than a typical job, we want to hear from you.
