In this specialized role, you’ll lead a team of Physiotherapists working in outpatient urogynecology and chronic pelvic pain programs, supporting women with complex pelvic floor conditions. This position is part of a truly multidisciplinary team, collaborating with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, and exercise therapists to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. You’ll oversee clinical operations, mentor staff, and drive quality improvement initiatives that enhance outcomes and service delivery. As a senior rehabilitation therapist, you’ll also take on responsibilities such as staff supervision, scheduling, and program development, while actively participating in clinical teaching and research. Description:
As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be coordinating the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will participate in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. AHS is dedicated to supporting our Physiotherapists in their practice area and expanding their skillsets regardless of location. All AHS Physiotherapists have access to a list of experienced clinicians across the province and are able to tap into this resource via email, phone and virtual meetings. As we transition to our Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care) you will also be able to share patient information real time with these senior clinicians to assist you in providing high quality care.

Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Additional Required Qualifications:Registered with CPTA for the Restricted Activity of Internal Exams; Heart and Stroke CPR (BLS-HCP); Minimum 3 years’ recent experience in the assessment and treatment of urogynecological conditions (including internal exams); Completion of the "Intro to Pelvic Health Level 1" Part 1 and 2 course or equivalent; Demonstrated ability in leading teams, coaching, mentoring and teaching, and the ability to facilitate practice growth in others; Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:Leadership development and related education; Level 2 Lower Extremity Orthopedics or equivalent courses for spine and lower extremity manual therapy and/or equivalent chronic pelvic pain courses (or must be completed within first year of employment); Licensed in Acupuncture or IMS; Knowledge and ability to use Connect Care; Knowledge of community resources.
