Grande Prairie offers a variety of career options and specialization available for the career minded individual. This is a 0.8 position and can be worked over four or five days. We are seeking a dedicated Physiotherapist to join our Out patient Services team at the QEII Ambulatory Care Centre. This program provides high quality physiotherapy care to clients whose needs cannot be met in the community due to complexity. Our patient population includes individuals with: Acute or sub acute neurological conditions transitioning from acute care or intensive in /out patient rehabilitation. This may include stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, Guillian Barre syndrome, functional neurological disorders, etc. Multi trauma and complex orthopedic injuries. Burns. Amputations. Other conditions requiring specialized, function focused therapy. This role is ideal for a clinician passionate about working with diverse, complex cases and supporting patients through meaningful functional recovery. Along with a wide range of career development and learning opportunities, we offer a competitive rate of pay, and a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description:

As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be coordinating the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will participate in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. AHS is dedicated to supporting our Physiotherapists in their practice area and expanding their skillsets regardless of location. All AHS Physiotherapists have access to a list of experienced clinicians across the province and are able to tap into this resource via email, phone and virtual meetings. As we transition to our Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care) you will also be able to share patient information real time with these senior clinicians to assist you in providing high quality care.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
