Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience with assessing and treating patients within the cardiac sciences inpatient adult acute care population. Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate Netcare, Outlook and other electronic medical records. Experience working in a critical care setting within the cardiac ICU and cardiac surgery ICU. Knowledge and experience of pre- and post-cardiac surgery conditions, ventricular assist devices and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. Knowledge and experience of the application of the Destination Home philosophy and awareness of community resources in and around Edmonton. You are a reliable worker who is flexible in using your time effectively by prioritizing competing tasks. You are able to utilize strong judgment by analyzing facts, considering the impacts, and arriving at sound conclusions, seeking counsel when appropriate to effectively plan treatments and discharges from the hospital. You can work independently and as a part of the team, creating strong, effective interpersonal working relationships with peers and other caregivers. You have effective teaching skills for students and other professionals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Connect Care training is an asset. Experience with Ventricular assist devices and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation skills are an asset. Provisional licenses with the college will be considered, but a general license is preferred.
