Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification is required. 1 year experience within the last 5 years in Alberta Health Services acute care setting preferred. Must have at 1 year of experience with assessing and treating musculoskeletal and orthopedic patient populations. Knowledge and experience of pre and post orthopedic surgery conditions is required, and trauma and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation are an asset. You are able to utilize strong judgment by analyzing facts, considering the impacts, and arriving at a sound conclusion, seeking counsel when appropriate to effectively plan treatments and discharges from hospital. You can work independently and as a part of the team creating strong, effective interpersonal working relationships with peers and other caregivers. You are a reliable worker who is flexible in using their time effectively by prioritizing competing tasks. You have effective teaching skills for students and other professionals. Basic computer skills, and ability navigating Netcare, Outlook and other electronic medical records are required. Must be able to work weekends. Able to transfer, lift Patient and equipment above 50lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:Connect Care training is an asset. Provisional licenses with the college will be considered but general license preferred. 2 years' experience within the last 5 years in Alberta Health Services acute care setting preferred but Covenant Health experience will be considered. Skills and knowledge in delirium and dementia, and behaviours related to it are an asset.
