Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience. A minimum of 1-year Acute Care experience working as a Physiotherapist in the last 3 years is required; new graduates with relevant clinical experience may also be considered. Effective time management and prioritization skills are required. Conflict resolution and strong communication skills (written and verbal) are essential. Must be able to work effectively both independently and within a team environment. Ability to problem solve and demonstrate critical thinking skills is essential. Given work tasks and charting is computer-based in this role, the ability to carry out extensive repetitive motion tasks is critical. The successful incumbent will be capable of safely managing long periods of sitting or standing, as well as repetitive movements. Must be able to participate in hands on care of patients (i.e., transfers, bariatric clients, bending, reaching, twisting, and walking distances). Must be able to lift and carry 10-15 kg regularly as needed. The successful incumbent will be responsible to provide proof of active registration with the Physiotherapy College of Alberta and association and to maintain registration throughout the duration of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working within the ICU is preferred. Experience with Connect Care is an asset. AADL Authorizer is ideal. Knowledge and ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
