Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Additional Required Qualifications:Active Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS Certification by first day of work. Minimum 3 years working experience in an adult inpatient rehabilitation setting. Minimum 2 years working experience with adults diagnosed with cancer. Clinical knowledge of bone marrow transplant care and hematological cancers. Experience working in a palliative care setting. Empathy and compassion: a deep understanding of the physical and emotional needs of patients with cancer. Effective interpersonal communication: Ability to connect with patients, families and healthcare teams in various modes of communication (verbal, written, Zoom, email). Experience providing physiotherapy care in an interdisciplinary team. Demonstrated effective time management and organization skills. Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve conflict situations. Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Word). Connect Care training. Experience assigning, supervising, and evaluating tasks provided to therapy assistants is preferred. Open to change and learning new skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 5 years of oncology experience in an urban adult inpatient or outpatient setting. Minimum 3 years working in a palliative care environment. Neurorehabilitation experience. Certified Lymphedema Therapist status (e.g. Klose, Vodder, Norton). Professional development within the last 12 months related to oncology. Experience facilitating groups and classes. AADL authorizer for compression garments and/ or mobility aids.
