Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Additional Required Qualifications:Relevant experience working in the emergency department within the last 2 years. Proficient in comprehensive evaluation of the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems. Adept in determining impairments and functional limitations, which may encompass skills in manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, injury prevention strategies and pain management. Recent experience with vestibular assessment and rehabilitation. Clinic-based orthopedic experience with musculoskeletal injuries, sport medicine and/or pain management (assessment and rehabilitation) Job demands: A high level of physical effort is required related to clinical caseload. Includes maintaining a standing position, perform up to a medium level of work (20-50lbs handled occasionally) including bending and/or rotation related to client transfers or therapeutic intervention. Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification required. Excellent interpersonal, conflict management, and communication skills. Able to work well and collaborate with others (i.e. team player). Excellent organizational and time management skills to efficiently organize and prioritize workload to keep pace in a busy multi-disciplinary patient care. Show strong initiative, ability to problem solve and demonstrate critical thinking skills is required. Demonstrates behaviours consistent with the values of AHS – Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Safety.
Preferred Qualifications:Worked as a physiotherapist working in an acute care setting in the last 3 years. Previous Connect Care training Vestibular therapy trained. Experience with program development. Demonstrates an understanding and vision for advancing physiotherapy practice in ED Demonstrates growth-mindset in continuing education, clinical practice and/or leadership
