Physician Resource Planner
Your Opportunity:
The Physician Resource Planner – Develops and implements the organization and execution of activities that support the effective and efficient functioning of a strategic Recruitment Program within the Northwest/Northeast. Works in partnership with the North and Provincial Medical Affairs teams, AHS healthcare facility leads, external community partners and North area Physicians to understand healthcare objectives and then plan and implement strategies for appropriate physician recruitment. This position requires the ability to have a comprehensive understanding of business processes. The Physician Recruiter must have the ability to apply best practices and knowledge regarding internal organization and external industry challenges to develop and improve processes within the North Medical Affairs portfolio, in order to significantly and positively impact the healthcare of Albertans. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Description:
This position provides a variety of duties within procedures, routines and precedents where there is requirement for judgement in the application of guidelines. Decisions are generally complex requiring knowledge of the organization, business processes, immigration requirements and procedures, CPSA policies, licensing requirements and processes and AHS policies and procedures. As well as and current best recruitment practices. This position has a direct impact on a range of standard and non-standard processes where judgment is required to determine the best of multiple options. Typically involves setting priorities and determining the most efficient process for getting the assigned work done.

A minimum of a related post secondary degree or diploma and two years of related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Strong leadership ability. Ability to inspire and instill confidence in a large diverse groups. Experience in managing change on a large scale. Working knowledge of Alberta Health Services systems and processes. Previous experience with Recruitment or Medical Affairs. Ability to manage projects or programs with minimal to moderate resource requirements, risk and complexity. Ability to monitor and control costs related to own work. May manage costs for moderate projects or programs. Working knowledge of immigration and recruitment legislation, policies, processes. Working knowledge of office software databases (Outlook, Excel, Word) in order to respond to action requests, and to prepare and edit correspondence, and respond to stakeholder inquiries. Knowledge of political sensitivities and the diverse interests of diverse stakeholders; and of financial policies, as well as of legislation governing Freedom of Information and Privacy (FOIP), financial and human resource information systems and expense claim system is essential. Good written and oral communication skills.
