Pharmacy Technician
Your Opportunity:
Are you an experienced Pharmacy Technician interested in contributing to innovation and system level improvement within Pharmacy Services? Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking dedicated professionals to support the development of the South Sector Central Production Facility, offering a unique opportunity to participate in the planning, design, and implementation of a centralized model that will shape future medication production and distribution services across the sector. As the successful candidate, you will apply operational expertise in medication production, distribution, inventory management, and pharmacy technologies to functional and spatial planning activities, including reviewing and validating functional programs, equipment and furniture lists, and key project documentation. Responsibilities also include supporting data collection and analysis, participating in multidisciplinary meetings and stakeholder engagements, reviewing drawings, optimizing workflows and space, and collaborating with pharmacists, technicians, pharmacy leaders, and interdisciplinary partners to assess risks, benefits, and operational impacts. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, critical thinking, adaptability, and an interest in change and innovation, with experience in planning, design, or implementation activities considered an asset. This role further supports continuous improvement initiatives and the evaluation of processes, technologies, and service delivery approaches in alignment with applicable legislation, standards, and procedures.
Description:
As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.

Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Current, provisional, or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.
Additional Required Qualifications:To ensure your skills and qualifications are considered, please attach a resume and cover letter with your application. Minimum five (5) years of hospital pharmacy experience. Knowledge of medication distribution legislation, policies, and procedures. A minimum of 1 year previous project experience contributing to planning, coordination, or implementation of complex, multi stakeholder initiatives is required. Requires at least one year of recent process improvement experience within the past two years in a hospital setting, with demonstrated advanced Epic functionality, workflow integration, and independent problem solving. Minimum 12 months hands on Epic module experience within the past 18 months required.
Preferred Qualifications:Membership in a recognized Pharmacy Technician association (PTSA, CAPT, or CSHP) preferred. PLC experience preferred.
