Your Opportunity:
Barrhead Pharmacy Production Center is our Northeast distribution center providing medication repackaging services of patient specific medications for both Acute and Long-Term Care patients, including unit dose, and order fulfillment of inventory for multiple rural hospital pharmacies across the zone. The Pharmacy Assistant will work under limited supervision of the Operations Manager, and with direct supervision of the Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist. The Pharmacy Assistant performs various medication related duties including: ability to accept and follow clear direction on workflow process required from Regulated Professionals, repackaging medications with automated and manual equipment, preparation of medications for repackaging processes, attention to detailed requirements to ensure quality and safe work for patients and in the work environment, refilling of medications for automated packager, receiving and putting away orders, ability to work confidently with computer software and technology, adhering to process requiring medications be final checked by Regulated Professionals, understanding inventory turnover to reduce outdated medications, ability to manage time, prioritizing work as directed, trouble-shooting unexpected interruptions in a timely manner, ability to work independently once training is complete, and a demonstration of reliability required of essential work in healthcare. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will be responsible for the packaging, distributing, shipping medications and the management and replenishment of medication inventory levels under the general supervision of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent hospital pharmacy experience in rural, remote locations in North Zone is an asset, with working knowledge of Pharmacy terms and medication names. Retail pharmacy experience and graduate of a recognized pharmacy assistant program acceptable to the Employer. Demonstrate proficiency in the following: communication (verbal and written), interpersonal abilities, organizational and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and in teams as required, computer skills. Must be in good physical condition as majority of shift involves typing, static positions, visual acuity, heavy lifting and grip strength, twisting, standing, crouching, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking and standing for extended periods of time. Demonstration of reliability required of essential work in healthcare.
Preferred Qualifications:FastPak Elite experience, preferred. EPIC trained experience, preferred.
