Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Working knowledge of Pharmacy terms and medication names. Graduate of a recognized pharmacy assistant program and/or Recent Retail or hospital pharmacy experience acceptable to the employer. Experience with Windows-based computer applications. Fluency in the English language (both written and verbal). Typing skills. Automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) recent experience preferred (within 6 Months). SHC Pharmacy experience and Inventory preferred (within 6 months) CII safe recent experience preferred (within 6 Months). Demonstrates excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills. Demonstrates good organizational, problem-solving and decision-making ability. Must be accurate, reliable, precise, cooperative, self-motivated and able to demonstrate effective service attitude. Within your cover letter indicate the reason you are applying to the South Health Campus and answer the following question: Thinking of your current job, skills and knowledge, what does full scope of practice mean for a Pharmacy Assistant?

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent Knowledge of various office equipment, unit dose packaging equipment, and pharmaceutical compounding equipment preferred. Displays professionalism, tact, courtesy, discretion and respects confidentiality. Ability to work all rotations and shift hours. Experience with word processing and pharmacy computer software preferred. Knowledge of Pharmacy Drug Formulary preferred.
