Description:
As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Additional Prescribing Authority (APA) is required for this role. Pharmacists in this position practice to their full scope, including but not limited to prescribing, ordering lab work, and discharge medication counseling. Applicants must have completed a residency and be clinically deployed with a minimum of two years of recent acute care hospital experience. At least one year of direct patient care experience within the last two years on a cardiovascular unit or intensive care unit at a large, urban site or equivalent is required. Applicants must submit a resume and cover letter detailing their interest in the position and what they hope to gain from the role. The FMC Inpatient Pharmacy operates 24/7, applicants must be able to work all shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary team and precepting is an asset. A strong ability to apply evidence-based medicine in direct patient care and a willingness to engage in ongoing learning would be beneficial in this role. We seek motivated, self-directed individuals committed to continuing competence. Previous experience in PN verification, project experience, and committee work will be considered. Active CSHP membership is also considered.
