SHC is a comprehensive healthcare facility offering inpatient, outpatient, wellness, and community-focused programs. As a 24/7 operation, pharmacy services are essential to our patient care. As a pharmacist at SHC, you will: Play a crucial role in providing direct patient care services, including medication therapy management, counseling, and monitoring. Collaborate with healthcare teams and patients/families to optimize medication treatment plans and patient outcomes. Engage in drug information, education activities, and precepting/mentoring other staff and/or students. Ensure accurate and efficient drug distribution. To succeed in this role, a SHC pharmacist must be proficient in time management, organization, and problem-solving. They should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Computer literacy for drug information and word processing is essential.
Description:
As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA) is required (for new practitioners; must obtain within 6 months). A minimum of 6 months direct patient care experience in a multidisciplinary care team. Preferred Qualifications:A minimum of 6 months previous experience in each of the following is an asset: clinical inpatient care (General Medicine or Emergency Medicine), ambulatory practice, and SHC site processes. Completion of a pharmacy residency program or advanced clinical degree/certification (e.g. PharmD). Authorization to administer drugs by injection. Active membership in a pharmacy professional organization. Project, research experience, or committee work. Prior experience training/precepting.
