Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma.

Additional Required Qualifications:

The Family Support Specialist (Parent Service Advisor) at ACH provides resource supports and connections or referrals to community programs for families accessing care at ACH. The Family Support Specialist must be competent conducting financial assessments using a strength-based approach. Extensive knowledge of social and community support programs focused on children with health needs and for families requiring financial and resource or community supports is essential. Knowledge of federal, provincial, and local resources (including those serving Indigenous persons) is critical to this role. Ability to learn quickly about supports in other provinces is also needed. The Family Support Specialist works closely with the Social Work team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills. Excellent time management, priority setting skills and ability to work with little supervision. Excellence in teamwork. Understanding of knowledge of Family Supports for Children with disabilities and Aboriginal or First Nations Supports. Direct knowledge of ACH programs and other child services is an asset. Patient and Family Centered.
