Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduate LPN applications will be accepted. Graduate from an approved School of Nursing. Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized, rapid moving, complex environment. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of a highly complex integrated team. Demonstrated advanced problem solving skills integrating critical thinking and good judgment. Demonstrated communication skills promoting respect and team spirit. Ability to stand scrubbed for many hours and to meet the physical demands of the position. Ability to wear lead apron protection for an extended period of time. Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office and on-line documentation required. Ability to work on call as scheduled. Current N95 fit testing required.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous perioperative experience preferred. Current BCLS certification required (ACLS / PALS desirable).
