Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy/graduation from an accredited university Occupational Therapy program. Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy preferred. CPR Health Care Provider. Active Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) Authorizer status. Educational, leadership/administration, gerontology and/or palliative care experience. Minimum 10 years of clinical experience. Strong leadership and facilitation skills. Strong interpersonal skills and excellence in written and verbal communication. Highly developed organizational skills, problem solving ability, and critical thinking skills. Working knowledge of computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office) and clinical documentation systems. Experience and ability with complex transfers, including ability to teach body mechanics and techniques. Transporting supplies and equipment (up to 40-50lbs). May be required to bend, pull, lift and perform variable movement and position changes. Community, work, and home visits will have variable conditions including travel in all weather conditions. May involve exposure to bodily fluids, chemicals, and potential allergens.
Preferred Qualifications:Registered with the Society of Alberta Occupational Therapists (SAOT) an asset. Management or clinical educator experience an asset. Project management experience an asset. Research experiences an asset. Case Management experience an asset.
