Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Active Heart and Stroke Foundation Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) Authorizer. It’s your move patient handling certification. Minimum 1-year clinical experience within the last five (5) years in adult inpatient or outpatient acute care or rehabilitation setting. Oncology and/ or palliative experience. Experience or training using electronic medical records within the past 12 months, e.g., EPIC/Connect Care. Experience with splinting equipment and fabrication of custom splints; adaptive aid and equipment; orthotic devices, including both commercial and fabricated. Experience in the past 12 months with referral triage and caseload management. Experience working with Therapy Assistants. Intermediate to advanced computer skills: Netcare, Microsoft Office and EMR (EPIC, ARIA). Experience using virtual technology to deliver patient care (phone, Zoom, Telehealth). Demonstrated ability to work within a patient-centered, interdisciplinary team of health care professionals. This position is physically demanding and requires repetitive lifting, twisting and transferring of patients and or equipment. You may be required to sit for prolonged periods and perform keyboarding/ computer and headset use. Please note there may be flexibility around FTE for the successful candidate that can be negotiated and confirmed during the selection process.
Preferred Qualifications:Complete Decongestive Therapy, CLT certification or certification in Lymphedema Management 3 years of clinical experience within the last five (5) years in adult inpatient or outpatient acute care or rehabilitation setting. Experience in program development, evaluation, best practice implementation, and representing OT on committees. Experience performing Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Professional development in the past year related to rehabilitation oncology.
