Completion of bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program. Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Additional Required Qualifications:This position will be primarily covering the out-patient Acute Burn Clinic and providing care interventions to individuals with acute thermal injuries. In addition, this position also offers the ability to cover patients in both in-patient burn populations as well as ICU. Experience in critical care, grafts and wound care is highly recommended. Experience in trauma care, splinting, pressure injury management is also highly recommended and beneficial to complete the demands of the position. Recent acute care experience in adults. Your quality of work must meet departmental and organizational expectations. You must be highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude whose work aligns with AHS Values. You must be able to act quickly and decisively using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Able to utilize strong judgment by analyzing facts, considering the impact, and arriving at a sound conclusion, seeking counsel when appropriate. You can work independently and as a part of the team creating strong, effective interpersonal working relationships with peers and other caregivers. You are a reliable worker who uses time effectively and is able to prioritize and complete tasks in a busy work environment. You have effective teaching skills for students and other professionals. Experience assigning to TA is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experiences with the complex patient populations (chronic disease management, pulmonary, end of life care), assessment and treatment skills (edema management, wound care, cognition, pressure injury/positioning, scar management). Connect Care training is preferred. Basic computer skills are a must, and familiarity with Netcare, Connect Care, Outlook and other electronic medical records are preferred.
