The outpatient hand clinic in the Chinook Regional Hospital is seeking a Temporary Full Time (1.0 FTE) Occupational Therapist (OT) or Physiotherapist (PT) to join our interdisciplinary Hand Clinic. This position provides an opportunity to work in a fast-paced outpatient specialty clinic, collaborating closely with the Plastic Surgery team to provide client and family centered care for individuals with hand conditions. As a member of the Hand Clinic team, you will contribute your clinical expertise within an interdisciplinary environment that values collaboration, efficiency, and high-quality care aligned with AHS values and practice standards. Description: Under the general direction of the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Manager, the OT or PT provides assessment, treatment, education, and consultation services to clients referred to the Hand Clinic. This role involves close collaboration with Plastic Surgeons and other members of the interdisciplinary team to support both surgical and non-surgical client pathways. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload requiring strong clinical reasoning, time management, and the ability to adapt to a high client volume clinic environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Completing comprehensive assessments and developing individualized treatment plans for clients with hand injuries and conditions. Fabrication and application of splints/orthoses and provision of wound care as required. Collaborating with Plastic Surgeons and interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated client care Providing post operative and conservative rehabilitation, and client education. Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical documentation in accordance with professional and AHS standards. Participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to effective clinic flow.

You may act as a direct service provider, consultant, educator, or advocate and function as an integral health care team member. You will engage individuals, groups, and communities to enable meaningful and chosen occupations, including self-care, productivity and leisure. You will support clients to achieve optimum functional abilities and independence related to their cognitive, affective, spiritual, and physical strengths and limitations. As an OT, you will provide comprehensive services, including triage, screening, consultation, assessment, diagnosis, collaborative goal setting, treatment, prevention, self-management, education, case management, referral, transition support, and collaboration with relevant and chosen stakeholders and supports within the client¿s physical, institutional, cultural, and social environments. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. You will collaborate with clients and families in determining, implementing, and evaluating rehabilitation. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich support and engage in quality improvement by partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families, and other stakeholders to advance services for the clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community and participate in peer mentoring and supervising students. You may also provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants and Therapy Aides.
