Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program. Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Two years of recent experience (within the last 5 years) working in an ambulatory care setting with adults living with chronic disease(s) and/or chronic pain. This role requires travel; possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related purposes is a requirement of this position. Experience facilitating biopsychosocial educational sessions with groups of patients. Experience participating in client/family/caregiver education in conjunction with other disciplines. Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational & time management skills - able to organize many details in a time efficient manner. Considerable time is spent standing, walking and in close supportive contact with clients. Required to bend, pull, lift up to 30 lbs., perform variable movements and position changes (may be required to assume awkward positions).

Preferred Qualifications:

Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) Authorizer status. Courses in cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing and health change approach methodology.
