Completion of bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program. Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Bachelor or Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy required. Current CPR (BLS Level C – Health Care Provider) is required. Experience with functional assessment and programming. You will possess extensive knowledge of community vocational and education programs and agencies in the region. You should be flexible, innovative, observant and enthusiastic, with good communication and self-management skills in an interdisciplinary team environment. An excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment record and references. Working knowledge of recovery-based practice and theory as well as harm reduction principles and practice in transitional and long term supported housing settings is recommended. Responsible to provide proof of active registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) and to maintain registration throughout the duration of employment. This position requires a vehicle for business use.
Preferred Qualifications:3-5 years’ experience in a community mental health and/or rehabilitation setting preferred. Knowledge of and ability to respond to cultural needs of diverse populations is also an asset. Experience in community capacity building, placement and community development specific to this population and working with multiple stakeholders is an asset. Proficiency with Microsoft office, Excel and use of Connect Care.
