Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program. Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational & time management skills, proven assessment skills. Ability to set priorities and organize time effectively. Proven critical thinking & decision-making skills. Ability to work in stressful, demanding and changing conditions. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of an inter-professional health care team, other staff & programs/organizations, & with clients and their caregivers/families as part of a community-wide multidisciplinary team. Ability to perform all duties in accordance with related legislation. 6 months of Addiction and Mental Health experience within the last 2 years. Entry level degree in Occupational Therapy required. Active registration with ACOT required. Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists required. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills required. Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment required. Current CPR certification required. Experience with an inpatient mental health population is desirable. Group Therapy experience an asset. Computer skills necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) preferred. Knowledge of the Addiction and Mental Health related resources across the Calgary Zone preferred. Knowledge of verbal de-escalation techniques preferred. Knowledge of how to intervene is an asset. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act. Experience in various risk assessment i.e. Suicide risk, Homicidal risk, violent risk.
