Completion of bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program. Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Hold current CPR (BCLS) certification. Recent experience in acute care is. Experience in dysphagia, Philadelphia collar fitting, splinting services and active AADL Program authorizer’s status. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Physically able to perform all assigned tasks. The ability to work independently with effective time management skills. The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary health care team providing rehab services to a diverse range of patients. Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Responsible for providing proof of active registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) and maintaining registration throughout employment. Lower leg assessment and bedside swallowing assessment training.
Preferred Qualifications:Regularly initiate self-directed learning about occupation to enhance their practice. Coach and supervise Therapy Assistants to their scope of practice. Precept and/or offer job shadow opportunities to students. Participate in quality monitoring activities/meetings/education sessions to improve outcomes.
