Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of 3 years recent clinical nursing experience essential. Demonstrated ability to function effectively independently and as an interdisciplinary team member. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to enable working directly with patients and their family members. Demonstrated strong decision-making/problem solving abilities. Experience in a wide range of assessment, treatment and therapeutic interventions, health promotion, diagnostic procedures, and follow-up care in the community. Computer literacy skills (i.e. Word, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications:A minimum of 3 years of recent emergency/critical care clinical nursing experience preferred. Relevant experience in trauma is preferred. Current Heart and Stroke Foundation certification in ACLS preferred. Current Trauma Nursing Core Course certification preferred. Instructor certification preferred. Recent WISE (Workshop in Simulation Education) or equivalent preferred. Relevant experience in trauma is preferred. Computer literacy skills (i.e. Connect Care, NetCare, etc.).
