Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 2 years experience in an acute care setting. Nurse Practitioner Certificate with final clinical focus in Family All Ages or Certification in Adult and Pediatrics. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to enable working directly with patients and family members. Ability to work as an effective member within a multidisciplinary team, FMC Maternity Care Centre. Ability to function independently. Excel at working in a dynamic fast-paced environment. Ability to work well under pressure and stressful situations. Ability to act independently and autonomously within their scope of practice, to include accepting referrals from: healthcare providers, patients, physicians and specialists.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 2 years obstetrical/pediatric/NICU clinical experience in acute care setting. Current lactation consultant certification. Ability to collaborate with members of the healthcare team. Ability to consult with and/or refer patients to other healthcare providers as required. Ability to provide education and counselling to patients/families/groups/communities as well as education and mentorship to other members of the inter-professional healthcare team.
