As a full scope NP, the successful candidate will provide evidence-based clinical care, demonstrate leadership and be a team player. The Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) is one of the busiest emergency departments in Western Canada. Centrally located in Edmonton’s downtown core, the RAH serves a diverse population with complex medical and psychosocial needs. The RAH ED has a strong sense of team through a culture of support. We are seeking Nurse Practitioners who have well-developed clinical judgement and assessment skills that can adapt to rapidly changing clinical priorities. Experience in emergency and acute care are foundational to this role. Description:
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Evidence to practice both independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:Family All Ages licensure. Emergency Nurse Practitioner Certification (ENP) or equivalent. Emergency Medicine Education and skills development courses. Emergency NP experience. Internal Medicine NP experience. Experience with addictions medicine. Practices trauma-informed, patient centered care approach. Current ACLS and PALS certification. Familiarity with Connect Care is beneficial.
