Your Opportunity:

The Supportive Living/ISFL Nurse Practitioner is a self-directed practitioner who directs, provides, and evaluates client care based on advanced practice nursing and medical management knowledge and skills for the supportive living resident population. This position combines the inter-related roles of clinical care, consultant, educator, leader and researcher through integrating interdisciplinary clinical practice, nursing staff development, and research activities. The principal role of the Supportive Living Nurse Practitioner (80%) is the provision of timely and effective clinical care and consultation that comes from a range of nursing and medical services provided to the region funded clients within Supportive Living residences. To provide leadership for evidence-based approach to practice, prioritization of needs and issues related to care, and development of models of care delivery. The NP will collaborate with other relevant stakeholders in the community and the region to further develop the vision of the supportive living service model.

Description:

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum: Three years recent clinical nursing experience working with seniors. Experience and expertise in cultivating and maintaining professional working relationships with clients, health professionals, and service providers. Strong clinical skills to include assessments, care planning. Expertise in managing complex clients with multiple co-morbidities. Comfort with using technology and charting in electronic systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience within the Continuing Care stream. Experience with Geriatric clients. Experience with Dementia. Experience with complex clients and various medical devices.
